Salt Spring Sailing

This tiny 5″ x 7″ transparent watercolor of sailboats at Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, Canada I painted en plein air from the little bridge near Ian’s farm where my daughter and I vacationed one year.  We would gather ripe wild berries on our way down to the bridge and eat them fresh and juicy at our next meal. Under The Cerulean Sky

I want to be there – now, under the cerulean sky with the boats, the water, the sunlit shops, and the friendly people.  This transparent watercolor is a “half sheet” (15″ x 22″) and is still in the Collection of the Artist. Seagulls Flying

I’m a gull watcher.  And a gull painter.  One of my favorites was of the seagulls at Baby Beach in Aruba. This transparent watercolor is of gulls swirling around in front of my son’s third floor deck on the dune. I donated it through Healing Art Works to The Cancer Center of Paoli Hospital in Pennsylvania. Bahama Sailing

These were small boats racing in the Caribbean – I loved what the wind and water were doing and painted them. Farm Nestled in Snowy Hills

March in New Hampshire is breathtakingly beautiful.  I could not wait to get back to our cozy cabin to spread out in front of a blazing fire with my little travel set of watercolors and block of cold press paper to paint the cobalt blue shadows I saw on the snow. California Coast

California Coast Above Pigeon Point Light is a large 3′ x 4′ oil on canvas that I created in my Pennsylvania studio.  My reference was a small watercolor sketch I had painted on location en plein air.  This oil painting is now in the home of a California Collector.
