Chanticleer Garden in Wayne is open to the public.  We artists who live in the area have been so fortunate over the years to be invited to come and paint in the extensive and varied gardens of this large property.
At the time this transparent watercolor was painted, the strips of annuals was called “the cutting garden.”  The path between these blooming strips had fabulous arches with sweet-smelling honeysuckle climbing
all over them.  I left the arches out of this painting – that will be an oil painting some day.  This day, four
of us were there painting – two of us at the “cutting garden,” the others on the terrace to capture that view.
We spent the day there, meeting midday to lunch together, then back to our easels to finish for the day.
This painting is currently in the Collection of the Artist but is available.
