Adam Thoroughgood built his Gentleman’s Garden many years ago in Colonial Virginia. It is still a lovely place to stroll around quiet paths between the flowers. When we were there, the wisteria had climbed all over the bushes beyond the garden. I didn’t paint the little bench down by the wisteria, although I sat in it. The view was incredible with a huge heron flying in across this watery finger of Lynnhaven Bay. This original 15 x 11 watercolor painting, that I painted en plein air on site, is matted and in a 20 x 16 wood frame.
